Designed to eliminate HCFC's and other environmentally hazardous blowing agents, the Froth-EX injection unit uses carbon dioxide as the blowing agent. According to Peter Tilgner, president of Linden, "The Froth-EX system gives processors a high level of accuracy and metering control, while eliminating harmful blowing agents, such as HCFC's. The unit offers excellent performance using a blowing agent that is considered environmentally safe."
Tilgner also noted that the Froth-Ex system has achieved the same physical properties at 80% of the density of water-blown foam. In addition, the Froth-Ex can provide up to a 10% savings in isocyanate because of the lower water levels.
The Froth-Ex is a standalone unit designed and manufactured for integration with new equipment or existing Linden or most competitor's machinery. Mixing and dispensing utilizes a unique L-Type mix head, engineered and produced by Linden. This mix head assures very accurate mixing and dispensing of the materials.
The Froth-Ex injection unit is controlled by a PLC-based microprocessor equipped with an operator-friendly, interface panel. This controller provides complete monitoring of the system and is fully programmable. Output ranges can be adjusted accurately between 8 and 30 grams per second.
